St Angela
St. Angela, a Franciscan tertiary, was a saint of great faith. She observed that the poorer children lacked the simplest elements of faith due to the ignorance of their parents. Rallying fellow tertiaries and other concerned young women, Angela developed a program whereby children would be regularly and systematically instructed in the faith. No specific patronage is assigned to St. Angela Merici, but single women and teachers could appropriately invoke her aid. She is usually depicted wearing a simple habit and holding a myrtle branch, a symbol of her virginity. Her feast day is January 27. Saint Patrick's Guild carries a wide variety of St. Angela gifts. Our patron saint gift selection inlcudes saint statues, patron saint pocket tokens, St. Angela medals and holy cards. Our St. Angela gifts make wonderful gifts to celebrate a confirmation candidate, for someone who shares her name, or for someone born on her feast day.
