St. Cecilia is a virgin and martyr of the third century. She was sentenced to death after she was caught burying the bodies of martyrs. So why then did she become the patron of musicians and composers? Apparently, during her pagan wedding ceremony she did not hear the secular music of the celebration, but experienced the sounds of angels singing and sang to the Lord in her heart, giving her the courage to remain true to her faith.
Standing 4 inches tall, the religious Saint Cecelia resin statue is the perfect size for a windowsill, desk, or nightstand. Our Saint Cecelia statue makes a great spiritual gift for anyone who has a special devotion to Saint Cecelia and would be especially appropriate for a Confirmation candidate taking the Confirmation name of Cecelia. Like all of the statues in our æSaints and ProtectorÆ series, this Saint Cecelia statue comes in an attractive gift box with a prayer to Saint Cecelia printed on the front of it.
Her feast day is November 22.
