St. Charles Borromeo is a 16th century Cardinal who is remembered for his large role in the Catholic Reformation and Council of Trent. He was also diligent in his work to fight famine and the plague. St. Charles is the patron saint of the Borromeans, public libraries, seminaries, and boarding schools. His feast day is celebrated within the Catholic Church on November 4.
