This rosary of seven decades was introduced among the Franciscans in 1422. Two Hail Marys were added since then, to total seventy-two, the traditional age of Mary at her assumption. This rosary commemorates the seven joys of the Blessed Mother: Annunciation, Visitation, Nativity, Adoration of the Magi, Finding in the Temple, Appearance of the Risen Christ to His Mother, and The Assumption and Coronation. This rosary has oval brown wood beads and crucifix, with the addition of a St Anthony medal attached to the center, which is a St Francis medal. Comes with pamphlet explaining the history of this rosary. Length: 25 1/2 inches.
