The term 'Pieta' comes from the Latin 'pietas' (piety) which was the Roman virtue of love and reverence between parents and children. Our Pieta sculptures are replicas of Michelangelo's classic rendition of Mary cradling the crucified body of her Son Jesus in her arms.
