Together, they choose rites and texts to address the needs of the mourners, the circumstances of the death, and the customs of the local Christian community. Part One, 'Funeral Rites' is divided in three groups of rites that corresponds to the three main moments of a Christian funeral: 'Vigil Service and Related Rites,' 'Funeral Liturgy,' and 'Rite of Committal.' Part Two, 'Funeral Rites for Children,' offers an adaptation of the principal rites of Part I for the death of a child.
