One adaptation of the rosary is a chaplet. This devotional St. Joseph Chaplet is divided into 15 groups of four beads consisting of 1 white and three purple plastic beads. A mystery of the rosary is considered on each white bead, which symbolize St. Jospeh's purity, and a special prayer is said on the purple beads which signify his saintly piety. The prayer card included with the chaplet has a picture of St. Joseph with his arms around the baby Jesus and holding a white lily. On the back of the card is a prayer to St. Joseph that is over 1900 years old. The purpose of the chaplet is to increase devotion to St Joseph and to help the faithful enter more fully into their prayers to him.
