St. Jude is the patron saint of desperate cases and lost causes with a feast day on October 28 and is usually depicted in green robes with a staff or axe in his hand and a flame extending from his head. The flame that is traditionally shown in regards to St. Jude represents when he and the twelve apostles received the Holy Spirit, and the staff or axe is a symbol of his martyrdom. As one of Jesus' twelve apostles, he plays an important role in the Catholic Church, and this necklace can be a suitable reminder of the saint whom you can turn to during hard times. The inscription around the edge of the necklace reads 'Saint Jude Thaddeus: Pray for us.'
