Ireland immediately comes to mind when you see the Claddagh symbol. This Irish ornament celebrates the 400 year old symbol that was first used as a wedding ring in Galway City, Ireland. The heart represents love, the hands represent friendship, and the crown stands for loyalty. These are 3 key ingredients for a lasting relationship. The Claddagh symbol is on the Irish ornament on opposite sides with the other two sides showing the same Celtic knot work with the words, "Love, Friendship & Loyalty" and "Let love & Friendship reign forever." Handcrafted using a Victorian technique called "decoupage," paper motifs are covered with coats of varnish until a completely smooth surface is achieved.

On top of the Irish ornament is a bow made of Kelly green ribbon. The hanging ribbon has "Ireland" printed in gold along with gold shamrocks in between the words. The handsome Irish ornament makes a wonderful gift not only for Christmas, but for year round display. This is a meaningful gift for Irish-hearted newlyweds. It measures approximately 3" in diameter and is a perfect illustration of the depth of the Emerald Isle's people.
