St. Robert

St. Robert, born Robert Bellarmine, is the patron of catechists and canonists. He was an outstanding scholar. Only three years after studying with the Jesuits, he was appointed instructor and preacher to several Italian cities. Canonized in 1930, this cardinal was one of the most important figures in the Counter-Reformation and named, "Doctor of the Church." St. Robert was opposed to harsh actions against Galileo. His feast day is September 17 and he died in 1621. Be inspired by the life of St. Robert with a St. Robert medal. This is a perfect gift for Confirmation, First Communion or other special religious occasions. St. Patrick’s Guild offers medal engraving for only $9.95 to make the gift of a St. Robert medal even more personal. See how to add engraving to your gift when you select the item. St. Robert had a gift of blending theology and science making him a forward-thinking man of the Church. This was challenging during the times in which he lived, but modern times need the same broad-minded faithful as we seek to come together and make this world a better place to live.
