St. Therese of Lisieux, also known as "the Little Flower", is one of the most popular saints in the Catholic Church. This children's book The Little Flower tells her story especially for children and in a way that is easy for them to understand. Stunning luminous illustrations by Tracey Arvidson add beauty and interest to the story. The story relates how Therese loved God so much but felt she could not do big things to show that love. Then a gardener tells her the story of a little pansy in a garden full of big lovely flowers. People came to see the big flowers but no one noticed the little ones. But the gardener does. He tells the pansy that when he looks out he sees the world covered with the beautiful little flowers.

The story is a parable so the gardener is Jesus and the pansy is Therese. She realizes that she can serve God in little ways but with great love and gives herself the nickname "Little Flower". The back of the book contains a biography of St. Therese to give the reader more information.
