Alone, For All Those Who Grieve was written by Bill Cento in response to the process he went through of care giving for his wife who suffered and then died from complications of dementia. Alone features prose and poetry about the journey Cento made from caring for his wife, coping with his grief upon her death and then building a new life. Alone is divided into 5 parts which include Caregiving, Loss, Memories, Recovery and Healing and Cento is honest about the problems of living up to the marriage vows of "in sickness and in health" as evidenced in this quote from the book "The stress of caregiving bears heavily upon me, building a burden so intense that there are times-oh, so many times-when all I want to do is leave it all behind". But somehow he finds the strength to go on and find peace in faithfully keeping the vows. Alone is "written to help those who suffer a grievous loss to work through their grief and discover a road to redemption" through experienced words of prose and beautiful poetry.
