St. Benedict is the patron saint of the homeless, Monastics, monks, and poisoning. St. Benedict's feast day is celebrated yearly by the Catholic church on April 16. This St. Benedict medal is sterling silver, about the size of a penny. The front of the saint medal depicts the image and name of Saint Benedict. The back of the St. Benedict medal shows the letters representing the prayer of Jesus while being tempted in the desert: "Be gone Satan! Never tempt me with your vanities! What you offer me is evil! Drink the poison yourself!" Our St. Benedict medal shows the letters representing his Latin prayer. Translated, they mean: "May the Holy cross be my light! May the dragon never be my guide!" The St. Benedict medal comes on an 18 inch chain with a clasp closure, which is a great length for women and children age 7 and older. Our St. Benedict medal comes packaged in a handsome hinged gift box.
